Help support me in my Ride for Sick Kids with Ronald McDonald House Northern NSW
This August, I'm taking on the Ride for Sick Kids to help keep families together when they need each other most.
When Indi suddenly became unwell while her family was away for the weekend, their world changed in an instant.
Diagnosed with leukaemia, Indi faced months of treatment far from home. Throughout it all, Ronald McDonald House Northern NSW helped her family stay close – close to the hospital, close to her care, and most importantly, close to each other.
Every year, thousands of families with a seriously ill or injured child rely on Ronald McDonald House Northern NSW. Through our Houses in Newcastle and Tamworth, Family Rooms in John Hunter Children's Hospital and Gosford Hospital, the Family Retreat in Forster, and our Learning Program across Northern NSW, families can stay together while their child receives the care they need.
Because when a child is seriously ill, being together changes everything.
By supporting my Ride for Sick Kids challenge, you're helping provide more than a place to stay. You're helping families stay close, find strength in one another, and focus on what matters most – being there for their child.
Together, we can help more families stay together when it matters most.
My Updates
Fingers crossed I can make it to the revised goal
Monday 24th Aug Had to accept that 700km was not going to happen this year. With nearly two weeks out sick, I'll try to hit 400km instead. Share
This has *NOT* been a good year!
Tuesday 18th Aug I spoke too soon and have been too sick to ride ever since (other than a short ride last week after dropping my car off to get a towbar fitted).Fingers crossed that I can at least get back to riding. I think that goal may get the better of me though! Share
Back from the ...sick
Saturday 8th Aug Oh how I hate head colds, especially when they drift down into your chest! Two days of no riding has put a big dent in my progress for the year ...but at least I have time to catch back up.*sigh* Hit 100km in 4 days and have only added another 25 in the following 4 days. Share
Slow and steady
Tuesday 4th Aug When life demands it, things can change quickly. From Saturday when I didn't even want to try more than a mild slope, to today, Tuesday, when I had little option but to ride from Belmont to work (due to a necessary car service). That's my longest ride for the year, so it's a bit of a lame brag!I may be a little sore tonight :( Share
